Tbilisi, Georgia: The environmental service of Tbilisi City Hall completed large-scale works around the small lake of Gldani and added another multi-functional recreational zone to the capital.
It is noteworthy that if the area was previously unorganized and overdue for construction debris, today it is a completely refurbished environment around the Little Lake. This project was prepared with the active participation of citizens.
The Mayor of the capital, Kakha Kaladze, inspected the renewed territory with Deputy Mayor Andria Basilaya. He noted, “We remember very well how messy the situation was around the small lake of Gldani, and today the area is fully rehabilitated and renewed.”
According to him, Walks and bicycles, a lighting system, trees, and plants were planted. It’s all yours to take care of, take care of. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who were involved in this important work,” he added.
Kakha Kaladze stated, “Thanks to the locals, because with their support we were able to make this very good project happen. I would like to invite everyone to come and see what has been done in Gldani, what project is implemented.”
He said that he is sure that all the residents of Tbilisi, who love their beautiful capital and want its development and progress, will be proud of this project. They will, of course, continue to implement such projects.
The Mayor also noted that they have another lake in Gldani, which is also in bad condition. Unfortunately, the area is privately owned, but they will do their best to return it to the municipality and implement a similar project.
Notably, there is also the American football school, which was a private property for years. “The situation there cannot withstand criticism. We have already returned the territory to the people of Tbilisi, and I promise you that in two years it will be one of the best football centers,” – said Kakha Kaladze.
Within the project, approximately 8.2 hectares of 5.1 ha of park area, sports and children’s courts, sand volleyball court, shades, benches, outdoor lighting, and video surveillance systems. A pier has been installed on the lake, which allows visitors to observe the environment and birds.
Special attention was given to greenery – irrigation system, fertilizer soil mix, and mulch were installed, 22,757 sq ft. Planted and planted grass in M area, planted 2,491 plants of different types. In addition, terrace greening was arranged, which is naturally integrated with the existing landscape.
The park is fully adapted for people with disabilities. The total cost of the project was 10 million GEL.
Along with the mayor of Tbilisi, Besik Kaladze, head of the civil service of the environment, Paata Togonidze, and district majoritarian deputy Konstantine Zarnadze, inspected the renewed territory.
