Tbilisi, Georgia: The Gldani district board is assembling a drainage collector on Mukhiani buildings. The project will be implemented along some sections of Nekresi, Svaneti, Unity, and Borjomi streets.
The mentioned project is especially important for Mukhiani buildings, because the mentioned collector will be able to receive and carry the abundant rainfall from the mentioned streets.
The Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, visited the site and got acquainted with Deputy Mayor Irakli Bendeliani about ongoing works. The Tbilisi City Hall shared the glimpses of the mayor’s visit along with its own on its official Facebook Page on November 17, 2025.
Kakha Kaladze said, “Infrastructural works are underway on Mukhiani buildings. We started a few years ago to arrange the settlement, where there was no underground communication.”
The Mayor added, “We had a very difficult situation, and moving in the rainy weather was practically impossible. Public transport could not be moved because there was no road infrastructure. First of all, let’s start to network underground communications and implement road projects. “
He noted, “For example, in 2025, we will network eight streets and organize road infrastructure. Accordingly, six public transport routes serve the local population. At present, a central collector is being set up in the settlement, which is principally important for this area. Locals approached us a few months ago to ask for this project to be implemented. “
“During heavy rainfall, the population faced the biggest problem – the water from above was entering the yards of certain families and flooding houses. The central collector will allow us to solve the problem completely. The works will be finished in August, – said Kakha Kaladze.
Works will be carried out on about 2,400 long meters, for which up to 3,600,000 GEL will be spent from the local budget. Besik Kaladze, the spokesman of Gldani district, was on the spot with the mayor of the capital.
