Georgia: The Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, visited Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Vocational Education Center in Kutaisi, where he congratulated the students on starting their studies and wished them a fruitful learning process.
The Georgian Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth shared the glimpses of the visit on its official Facebook Page on November 27, 2025, Thursday. The Ministry also shared a small note about the event held along with its glimpses.
The Minister, along with TSU Rector Jaba Samushia, held a meeting with centre staff, inspected the educational infrastructure, and discussed plans. As Givi Mikanadze noted, by the decision of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth, in order to carry out rehabilitation works, more than 1 million 300 thousand GEL will be donated to the center.
In his speech, Givi Mikanadze focused on steps taken to support vocational education, including improving the infrastructure of colleges and providing the financial resources needed for institutional development.
In 2025, in the TSU professional programs in Tbilisi and Kutaisi centers, up to 500 students started studying in 18 programs. Among them, 260 students will study in Kutaisi.
In 2025, the TSU Center for Vocational Education announced applications for in-demand programs in the labor market: Accounting, Preschool, Customs, Financial Services, Library Business, Nursing Education, Front-End Development, Freight Forwarding, Warehouse Operations, and Event Organizing.
The demand for TSU’s professional programs is increasing every year. More than 2,000 applicants have registered for the 2025 admission. Notably, all professional programs in TSU are funded by the state 100%
