The Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Zviad Gabisonia, took part in awarding the winning teams of the Millennium Innovation Competition 2025.

The Deputy Minister congratulated the finalists on their success and, during his speech, he emphasized the importance of the competition, in which several future innovators and talented young people in the country were selected. He said it is very important that the participation of public and private schools in the competition is growing every year, and innovation and technology are becoming increasingly popular among young people.

Grand Prize of the 2025 Millennium Innovation Competition – NASA Space Center University Summer School Departure Team won “clusters”.

Students of Komarov Tbilisi Physics-Mathematics N199 Public School created the project RescuedBy. The project aims to create a drone-based, artificial intelligence-based search and rescue system that will ensure the quick and effective discovery of missing people in hard-to-reach regions and disaster zones.

The second-place team – “Armo”, funded by the Georgian Agency for Innovation and Technology (GITA), will participate in the technology camp at Stanford University, USA. A team consisting of pupils of Poti N9 Public School and British-Georgian Academy of Tbilisi, created a project “wearable exoskeleton to restore post-insult, motor defective functions”.

“The exoskeleton is intended for the gradual restoration of the function of the upper limb damaged as a result of a stroke or physical injury.

Third-place team – RiskTrackers, financed by Liberty Bank, will visit the European nuclear research organization CERN on a study visit to Switzerland. Team members have designed a project that aims to create an integrated monitoring system that can, based on soil migration and precipitation data in floodwaters, provide timely forecasts.

In addition to the teams that reached the prize place, the contestants who reached the final stage were awarded special prizes by the partner organizations of the competition: “Selfie”, “Lineat”, “Sakpatent”, and the National Astrophysical Observatory of Georgia, Evgeni Kharadze.

This year in the Millennium Innovation Contest, 101 teams from across the country, a total of 337 students, participated. 12 teams moved to the final stage from them.
