The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Tbilisi City Hall, Charity Foundation “Kartusa”, and British consulting company Leisure Development Partners (LDP). The creation of an entertainment-recreation themed space in the Tbilisi Sea area is subject to agreement between the parties.

The contract was signed by Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, Director of the Supervisory Board of Fund “Kartu” Nikoloz Chkhetiani, and Leisure Development Partners representative Natalie Bakhlin.

The British company, based on the agreement with the fund “Kartu”, will firstly conduct a technical-economic analysis of the project, and in the second stage, a conceptual design will be created.

“With the help of Fund Kartu’, we are starting to take concrete steps to create a new recreational and entertainment space in Tbilisi. It is also pleasant to know that what is related to the capital is of the greatest interest to society. There are several parks in Tbilisi, some of which are of historical value and have the status of urban importance, but we do not have a large-scale amusement park with modern standards, which will not only be a center of attraction and entertainment for Tbilisi residents, but will also be on the tourist map. There is talk about creating a new recreation zone near the Tbilisi Sea, where an amusement park is planned to be built. The recreation zone will unite all the components of entertainment, awareness, and relaxation that are widespread in the world today,” said the mayor of Tbilisi.

According to him, the world-renowned consulting company LDP focuses on technical-economic analysis and strategy development of the entertainment industry and tourism projects. Therefore, the detailed project of the construction of a recreation and entertainment space will be prepared according to the research they have developed.

“I would like to thank the Foundation ‘Kartu‘ and the family of its founder, Bidzina Ivanishvili, for their involvement in the implementation of an important project for Tbilisi. Creating a new recreational and entertainment space near the Tbilisi Sea will contribute to the growth of the economic and tourist direction of the city, creating new jobs, strengthening the image of Tbilisi as a modern European city and, most importantly, creating a positive environment where children, young people, visitors of all ages will relax and have fun,” said Kakha Kaladze.

According to Nikoloz Chkhetiani, although the Foundation “Kartu” is implementing several major greening projects in the capital, including the greening of Mtatsminda Ferdi and the construction of the Central Park of Tbilisi, Tbilisi needs a new Qaidi recreational zone, where, along with entertainment, there will be an opportunity to relax.

“Foundation ‘Kartu’ is still in the service of our country and supports government services, including the Tbilisi City Hall, in the implementation of important projects that our country and the capital need,” – noted Nikoloz Chkhetiani.

According to the representative of the British consulting company, the new project will bring positive changes to the Georgian market.

“We are glad to be involved in the implementation of this important strategic project. I am sure that this investment will bring quite positive changes for the people of Georgia. As consultants, our role is to lead the design team to produce a highly ambitious project and concept that relates to market realities and execution work. I think we will be able to implement this important opportunity to the maximum, – said Natalie Bachlin.

The signing event was attended by the Vice Mayor of Tbilisi, Giorgi Tkemaladze, Chairman of the City Council, Zurab Abashidze, Deputy Mayor, District Leaders, City Council and Parliament members, as well as Foundation “Kartusa” and representatives of the British Company.
