The employees of the Samegrelo–Zemo Svaneti Regional Division of the Department of Environmental Supervision, under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, have identified violations in Khobi Municipality.
The Environmental Supervision Department of Georgia shared the details of the violations in Khobi Municipality on its official Facebook Page on April 14. 2026, Tuesday. Additionally, the Department provided a glimpse of the fishing equipment used in the town to engage in illegal fishing.
In the stream located in the Zubi neighborhood of the village of Akhali Khibula, a citizen used an electrofishing device to catch 1 kg of European chub.
A citizen was also attempting to fish using an electrofishing device in the village of Sajijao, on the Chanistskali River; however, the Department’s employees prevented the violation before the poacher could catch any fish.
