Todradze begins new term as Georgia statistics head

By the decision of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Gogita Todradze was appointed Executive Director of the National Statistical Service of Georgia for a new term.

By the decision of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Gogita Todradze was appointed Executive Director of the National Statistical Service of Georgia for a new term.
Todradze was selected for this position by competition. The competition process was conducted by the Commission created by the Government of Georgia on March 16, 2026, which selected Gogita Todradze after evaluating the candidates and presented her candidacy to the Prime Minister.
Gogita Todradze has held the position of Executive Director of Sakstat since 2018. He has received higher education in the field of economics (statistics) and law at Ivane Javakhishvili State University. Since 2006, he has had an academic doctor’s degree in economics.
He has almost 25 years of experience working in Saxtat. Started his career in 2002 as an economist in the population census authority. In different years, he worked as Deputy Head of Social Infrastructure Administration and Deputy Head of Statistics Authority of Tbilisi. In 2006-2016, he was the head of the Department of Business Statistics, in 2016-2018, Deputy Executive Director, and from 2018, Executive Director.
Gogita Todradze is actively involved in international statistical activities. Since 2017, he has been participating in the UN European Economic Commission (UNECE) expert working groups. He was a member of the United Nations Statistical Commission (UNSC) from 2019 to 2022.
In 2018, he was elected as a member of the Bureau of the Statistical Committee of UNESCAP for Asia and the Pacific Economic and Social Commission (UNESCAP), and in 2020-2022.
Since June 2025, he has been a member and vice-president of the UNECE European Conference of Statistics (CES) Bureau, and in September 2025, he was elected a member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI).
In addition, Gogita Todradze has 15 years of continuous teaching experience. Since 2009, he has been giving lectures on statistics at different universities. Since 2017, he has been an Associate Professor of the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA), and since 2022, a Full Professor of the Caucasus International University.
The Executive Director of Sakstat is appointed by the Prime Minister of Georgia for a four-year term. Gogita Todradze will take charge for a new term from May 3, 2026.
