The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze congratulated the youth on the opening of the Student festival, which was opened on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in Rutsavi, and wished them success.
The Rustavi City Hall also shared the glimpses of the festival on its official Facebook Page on May 2, 2026. The City Hall also shared a small note about the event along with its glimpses.
Along with the Georgian PM, the Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, and the Mayor of Rustavi, Nino Latsabidze, were also present there.
Rustavi attended the event, including the delegate Irakli Shatakishvili, Member of Parliament Aleksandre Dalakishvili, State Commissioner in Lower Kartli area Ilia Jalaghania, Chairman of the City Council Mamuka Rekhviashvili, and MPs of the Council.
The first part of the festival day was dedicated to sports competitions organized in Rustavi Sports Palace.
After the tournament, on Rustavi’s central square, thousands of students gathered. Young people walked Kostava Avenue in a solemn procession and gathered in Rustavi Central Park, where the opening event of the festival and the concert of the band “Ursa” took place.
The Student Festival is the largest youth event of the year, having been held annually since 2014, and unites thousands of students from almost all Georgian high schools.
Within the festival, cultural events are planned in Kutaisi, Gori, Batumi, Zugdidi, Akhaltsikhe, and Telavi. The winner of the year’s higher education title will go to the university whose students win the most competitions.
The partners of the Student Festival are: the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Tbilisi City Hall, Rustavi City Hall, and Youth Agency.
