In Kojori, in the Sergeant Academy named after Giorgi Antsukhelidze, the project “Army Camp” was opened by Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, and Vice Prime Minister, Defense Minister Irakli Chikovani.
The Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia shared the glimpses of the camp on its official Facebook Page on June 22, 2026, Monday. The Georgian Education Ministry also shared a small note about the army camp, along with its glimpses.
According to the glimpses shared by the Ministry of Education, it should be noted that the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Tamar Makharashvili, participated in the event.
The President of Georgia and the members of the government addressed the pupils and their sergeant-instructors with a welcome speech, congratulated the opening of the camp, and talked about the importance of the project.
After the event, participants checked out the training equipment and heard from instructors about physical activity. The camp aims to raise patriotic spirit in the younger generation, promote a healthy lifestyle, and increase awareness of the Georgian army.
“Army camp” will be carried out at two locations – in Kojori, Sergeants Academy, and Sachkheri Municipality, in the mining training school named after Colonel Besik Kutateladze. In the camp, within eight rotations, up to 1700 students of 9th, 10th, and 11th grades will participate.
During the boot camp program, students master fire drill, topography, and military navigation, learning first aid and casualty evacuation techniques. The camp’s program also includes a self-rescue course, engineering, and mining training.
In 2026, the “Patriarchal Hour” will be added to the “Army Camp” program for the first time, during which clergy will hold meetings with teenagers on the topic: “The harmful effects of drugs and alcohol and family values”.
Every rotation of the camp starts with the participation of children and instructors, raising the national flag against the background of the Georgian national anthem. At the end of each rotation, the children will receive commemorative gifts, certificates, and soldier identification tokens.
It is also noteworthy that the representatives of the Youth Agency, the Defense Forces, and the Patriarchate of Georgia also took part in the event.
At the initiative of the Department of Strategic Communications and Public Relations of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth, and with the support of the Patriarchate of Georgia, the project will be implemented starting in 2023.
