In order to inform the public properly, we would like to respond to information circulating regarding the area of kindergarten No.29 in Gonio.
In 2023, the Municipal Development Fund started the renovation works of kindergarten No. 29. However, in the process of implementing the project, the work could not be completed due to problems related to the contractor company.
The Municipal Development Fund has conducted a new investigation; according to the conclusion, the rehabilitation of the existing building was unprofitable. Therefore, the demolition of the building and the construction of a new kindergarten were considered.
Furthermore, under current building regulations, the existing land area no longer meets the standards required for constructing a new nursery.
Accordingly, at this stage, the procedures for allocating the appropriate land plot for the construction of a new kindergarten in Gonio settlement are underway.
They explain here that the pupils of No. 29 kindergarten continue the education process smoothly; they are distributed to other nurseries where they are provided with appropriate educational conditions.
They also emphasize that the information spread in some media outlets about the expansion of the existing territory is not true.
Batumi City Hall actively continues to develop preschool infrastructure. Currently, two new kindergartens are under construction on Ivane Meskhi I Chikh and Niko Muskhelishvili streets, and the construction of another new kindergarten has started on Friedon Khalvashi Avenue.
At the same time, the search for land plots and locations for the construction of new kindergartens is actively underway in different administrative units of the city.
By the end of the year, as part of the construction and rehabilitation of kindergartens in Batumi, 8 kindergartens will be put into operation, serving 1320 students in total, which will significantly improve the infrastructure of preschool care and increase accessibility.
