The Chairman of the Adjara High Council, Tsotne Ananidze, attended the presentation of the youth initiative, held on July 9, 2026, Thursday, in the city of Batumi.
The presentation of a new multidisciplinary initiative – “Institutional Memory of Batumi Self-Governance and Development Prospects”– was opened by the Chairman of the Batumi City Council, Ivane Maisuradze, and he talked about the importance of supporting young people and a new format of cooperation with them.
The initiative aims to strengthen civic engagement of young people, promote their active participation in local government activities, and showcase the role of the City Council as a representative body in supporting and developing youth initiatives. The initiative seeks to create a platform for collaboration and idea sharing for the youth to present their views, initiatives and proposals on municipal development.
At the event, which was attended by representatives of the High Council of Adjara, the Parliament of Georgia, the City of Batumi, the City Hall and the community, an inclusive doodle – “Rainbow” miniature – “Batumi” (directed by Nika Tugushi). The inclusion of Dasi symbolically expressed unity, equality, the importance of social integration, and the role of municipal support in the process of uniting different groups of society. Tsotne Ananidze and Ivane Maisuradze gave symbolic gifts to the little actors by the Chairmen of the High Council of Adjara and Batumi City Council.
The assistants of the Batumi City Council Chairman – Nana Devadze and Tamar Oragvelidze, together with the presentation, informed the public about the historical development stages of Batumi and the city council, the importance and role of self-government traditions in the process of implementation of modern civic initiatives.
A photo exhibition depicting the history of old Batumi was presented in the foyer of Sakrebulo.
