In the Tbilisi Sports Palace named after Otar Korkia and Nodar, Georgia hosted an international professional freestyle wrestling tournament, Real American Freestyle (RAF), which brought together world-class wrestlers and many fans of the sport.
The Georgian National Olympic Committee (GNOC) shared glimpses of the wrestling tournament on its official Facebook Page on July 12, 2026, Sunday. The Georgian Olympic Committee also shared a small note about the tournament along with its glimpses.
The tournament was attended by 24 of the world’s best athletes, Olympic and World champions, medalists, and distinguished wrestlers from different countries, which gave the event special importance, among them:
- Vladimir Khinchegashvili,
- Geno Petriashvili,
- Givi Macharashvili,
- Merab Dvalishvili,
- Henry Sehudo,
- Abdulrashid Sadulaev,
- Kyle Snyder, Kyle Dike,
- Jake Warner,
- Arman Tsarukiani,
- Razambek Zh Amalov
- Other outstanding wrestlers.
The tournament was attended by the President of the National Olympic Committee of Georgia, Olympic Champion Leri Khabelov, and other leadership of SEOK.
Among Georgian wrestlers, Olympic champion-prize-winners Vladimir Khinchegashvili, Givi Macharashvili and Geno Petriashvili won victories, and in the main match of the evening there was an impressive comeback by Merab Dvalishvili – he gave up the first round with American Henry Sehudo, but then he took the initiative and won 11:8.
Several high-level matches were held within the event, including championship doubles. The RAF is an international professional wrestling league that brings together the world’s best wrestlers in one arena, offering athletes the opportunity to showcase their abilities in front of an international audience.
Georgia once again hosted a high-level international sports event and drew the world’s attention.
