In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture “List of weapons and equipment allowed for the treatment of objects of animals according to their species, terms and conditions for acquisition”, the hunting season of flying birds will open on the fourth Saturday of August.
Hunting for migratory birds will be allowed from August 22, 2026 to March 1, 2027. To obtain the right to hunt, it is necessary to pay a fee for the removal of migratory birds from the environment – 10 GEL.
The fee can be paid at any bank in Georgia. Receiving bank: State Treasury, bank code: 220 101 222, account number: №200122900, treasury code determining the type of budget revenues: 3033.
Hunting is prohibited in the territories defined by the legislation of Georgia, including: within the administrative borders of cities, in state reserves, national parks, in the territory of the
Nugzar Zazanashvili multipurpose reserve, as well as in 500-meter zones around state reserves and 250-meter zones around national parks. Hunting is also prohibited in the territories of breeding farms managed and used by the LEPL National Agency for Wildlife.
Hunting of migratory birds is allowed only with hunting weapons provided by Article 7 of the
Georgian Law, namely: hunting with a smooth-range firearm (gun), hunting with a screw-barrel firearm (carbine or shashkhana), hunting with combination firearm, hunting with cold and cold-range firearms, and hunting with pneumatic firearms.
