In Saburtalo district, on the territory of Alexander Kazbegi Avenue N27, rehabilitation of the recreational space near the public school N52 has been completed.
Within the scope of the project, all appropriate parking infrastructure, including book visual benches, was installed on an area of 2,500 sq.m. Outdoor lighting and irrigation systems were also set up. The mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, got acquainted with the deputies – Irakli Bendeliani and Kakha Abuladze.
The mentioned area was completely rehabilitated, and a recreational park was set up. It’s about a half-hectare area, with several areas interlocked. Within the project, walking paths, trees, and plants were planted, and irrigation and lighting systems were set up. Parking furniture is imported, and infrastructure is completely renovated and tidy. It’s a very pleasant atmosphere. We will continue to green and rehabilitate the spaces between residential buildings so that, first of all, locals have spaces to rest, exercise, and entertain. One of the main priorities of the City Hall is to arrange parks and recreational spaces. That’s why we do so many projects. The boards work in this direction daily,” Kakha Kaladze said.
In addition, the area was equipped with a security video surveillance system. The space has become greener – rolled grass and about 450 different types of trees and plants, including an olive tree. In the recreational space, a plaque in honor of Georgian Catholic Patriarch Ilia II was placed, where his own words are engraved.
The newly rehabilitated space is connected to the so-called Prague Square, where parking inventory and a children’s entertainment area were also completely replaced. The irrigation system has been renewed, and rolling grass has been laid, along with various types of tree plants and seasonal flowers.
By combining both spaces, an area of up to 5,000 square meters has been furnished. The total cost of the project is 800,000 GEL. On the site, along with the mayor of the capital, Saburtalo district spokesman Gizo Vasadze and Majority deputy Beka Mikautadze were present.
