The First Deputy Head of the Customs Department of the Ministry of Finance, Otar Rikadze, and the Deputy Head of the same Department, Irakli Tevdoradze, with the Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Guloglan Muradali, and Fuad Mamadov, held working meetings.
The Revenue Service of Georgia shared glimpses of the working meeting held on its official Facebook Page on August 19, 2026, Wednesday. The Revenue Service also shared a small note about the meeting along with its glimpses.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the challenges faced by the customs starting points of the two countries and discussed the issues of ensuring the smooth continuity of international shipments. Special emphasis was given to informing the parties on the situation on site and planning/implementing appropriate action measures. In addition, as the meetings progressed, an agreement was reached that in the near future, comprehensive meetings will be held again in an expanded format, which will assess the results of specific measures already taken and, if necessary, identify additional action steps to ensure the smooth movement of cargo.
The officials exchanged information on the current situation at the border customs checkpoints and discussed ways to improve coordination between the relevant authorities of Georgia and Azerbaijan. In the end, the parties expressed their full readiness to promote the smoothness of the cooperation process.

Moreover, it should be noted that the working meetings were held simultaneously on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the customs checkpoints – “Sinik Kyorpus” on the border with “Red Bridge” and “Mazimgara” on the border with “Lagodekhi”.
