Adjara Government meets Business Representatives

The Chairman of the Government of Adjara, Zurab Pataradze, together with members of the regional government, met with employees of the Adjara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representatives of local businesses and associations.

The meeting discussed the issues of the region’s economic development, business support, attracting new investments, and expanding international trade and economic relations.

According to Zurab Pataradze, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry plays an important role in ensuring effective cooperation between business and state agencies; according to him, the Chamber’s active involvement in the process of supporting local entrepreneurs and farmers, improving the investment environment, and creating new opportunities for business is necessary.

“The economic development of our country and region, establishing new business ties, attracting investments, increasing trade turnover and export potential are our top priorities. In this direction, strengthening relations with representatives of the business sector, organizing business meetings, business forums and B2B meetings are of particular importance. In the near future, business forums are planned to be held both in mountainous Adjara and in Batumi.

Adjara is a region of opportunities that has always had an important economic and business function. “More proactive communication with the business sector and support for the implementation of new joint initiatives by the Adjara Chamber of Commerce and Industry is one of the priorities of our government team,” the Chairman of the Government noted.

The meeting discussed the development of business tourism in the region and the organization of international business forums. The issues of supporting small family hotels in mountainous Adjara and creating new jobs were discussed. It was also noted that the sale of local products and promotion of exports are of particular importance for the successful conduct of the upcoming citrus season.

The meeting was attended by Ednar Nataridze, Minister of Finance and Economy of Adjara, Denis Salukvadze, Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, and Giorgi Romanadze, Head of the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
