The Chairman of the Committee for Education, Science, Culture and Sports Issues of the Adjara High Council – David Batsikadze met with the academic staff of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.
Along with David Batsikadze, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia – Zviad Gabisonia was also present at the meeting.
The meeting was held on July 8, 2026, Wednesday.

The meeting was opened by the Rector of BSU – Tite Aroshidze. The Deputy Minister talked about the main directions of the higher education system reform, news, and planned activities.
The event continued in a question-and-answer format, and academic staff had the opportunity to get detailed information on important issues directly from Zviad Gabisonia.
Before meeting with academic staff, government officials toured the newly launched Peace Learning Center at the university – “Youth Platform for Peace Building”.
The Center is a new educational space for young people to learn and understand conflicts, historical experiences, and modern social processes. Students here are offered academic and practical opportunities in peacebuilding, conflict analysis, dialogue, and reconciliation. Zviad Gabisonia left a note in the book intended for guests.
