The local government of the Ajara region of the Republic of Georgia hold an impressive award distribution ceremony. During this ceremony, the best service providers in the tourism sector were awarded by the local government.
It is to be specifically mentioned that the award ceremony was attended by Tornike Rizhvadze, Chairman of the Adjara Government. Tornike Rizhvadze, on this occasion, spoke about the successes achieved in the tourism sector in the current year of 2023 and thanked the Department of Tourism and every person employed in the tourism sector for their valuable contribution.
Tornike Rizhvadze speaking specifically stated that “the tourist season for 2023 was especially important and successful for the tourism sector. During today’s significant event, distinguished tourist attractions were named in the nominations, to whom I would like to congratulate. I want to point out here that international interest in the Batumi tourism sector has increased, as well as there are increasing streams in the highland Adjara”.
“I would also like to thank everyone, both the Department of Tourism, as well as every person in this industry who has worked so hard and contributed to hosting Adjara this year to over almost four million visitors which is truly impressive. I am sure that in the coming years, this tourism industry will develop even more and will bring even more prosperity to our society ” added chairman.
Notably during the ceremony, the best service providers have been nominated for 14 different nominations. At the same time important persons in the tourism sector were awarded the Tourism Honorary Award. This tourism honorary award was established by the Adjara Tourism and Resorts Department.
At the opening of the event an Adjara Tourism Department’s report for 2023 was presented. The number of domestic and international visits in the Adjara region exceeded 4 million for the first time, which is a very important and significant development.
The city of Batumi has hosted a number of international events, including the Europe Gala Ceremony of the World Tourism Awards, in which the region was named as the fastest-growing four-season tourist destination.
The Department of Tourism of Adjara is holding the “Magnolia” award event in Adjara since the year of 2015. Its goal is to encourage the tourism sector and improve service in this important region. Adjara Tourism Department uses assessments of tourists and the sector to identify high-service tourist attractions in the region.
It is to be noted that Adjara Tourism organised the annual report and award distribution ceremony and it was attended by Adjara Government and the Supreme Council representatives as well as the representatives of the tourism industry and media.
