Georgia: Akaki Tsereteli Kutaisi State University hosted the XVII International Symposium on ” Modern Problems of Literature, Literature of Small Countries and Challenges of the Modern Global World” on September 25-27.
Shota Rustaveli Institute organized the event, which included Georgian and foreign scientists.
At the opening ceremony, the Institute of Georgian Literature director, Professor Irma Ratian, and the Rector of the Caucasus International University, Professor Kakhaber Kordzaia, welcomed the Symposium’s participants and guests. They noted that the Institute of Georgian Literature is successfully cooperating with the Caucasus International University, as confirmed by several significant projects.
It is noteworthy that the documentary “Birth of Georgian Symbolism,” shot by the CIU Multimedia Center, was shown at the plenary session. The film attracted everyone’s interest. Professor Irma Ratian noted the role of CIU Chancellor Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze and Head of Multimedia Center Nino Chalaganidze in working on various projects.
The Symposium was attended by the Head of Doctoral Service of the Caucasus International University, Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor Nino Mindiashvili. Mindiashvili headed the section “Writing of Ethnic Minorities, Local and Global Challenges” and also presented a report on the topic “Literary Reflections of Georgian-Ossian Relations.”
The two-day scientific Symposium was quite busy with both section works, round tables and various activities.
