In the village of Akhalsheni in Khelvachauri municipality, the second stage of the Culture House’s renovation has been completed. The chairman of the Adjara government Zurab Pataradze got acquainted with the mayor of Khelvachauri, Zaza Diasamidze, about the completed work.
The Government of Adjara shared glimpses of the Chairman’s visit on its official Facebook Page on July 9, 2026, Thursday. A small note about the completed work was also shared along with its glimpses.
The Prime Minister noted that after the completion of the project, the Akhalsheni House of Culture will be able to host a wide range of cultural, educational and community events.
“Rehabilitation of the House of Culture in Akhalsheni is at its final stage. This historic building has been in a rough shape for years, and today it has been fully renovated. A third phase is also planned to take into account the building’s technical equipment. Here it will be possible to hold concerts, festivals, conferences, seminars, and other important events.
The beautiful nature of Akhalsheni and the architecture of the building give this space a special charm. I am sure that the House of Culture will become an interesting place not only for locals but also for visitors, will further strengthen the cultural life in Khelvachauri and will host several important events,” – said Zurab Pataradze.
The total cost of the project is 1 652 485 GEL. Within the second stage, internal infrastructure – concert hall, conference and rehearsal spaces, as well as office rooms- was organized.
The third phase of work is scheduled to begin, which includes the stage, the installation of the sound system, and the furnishing of the outdoor area.
The project was recognized by the Minister of Culture of Adjara, Eliso Bolkvadze, the government of Adjara, the representatives of Khelvachauri Municipality Hall and Sakrebulo, as well as the employees of the Municipality Culture Service.
