To celebrate the pre-Christmas main Christmas tree in city was lighted. There were many musical and dance events were also held with participation of number of singer and artists also.
It is worth to note that, on the central square of Akhaltsikhe, the main Christmas tree of the city was lit solemnly. At the same time during the event, a festive concert was held, where Georgian pop singers gave their mesmerising performance for people who visited their with their families also.
Some of  the pop singers include the names of Nutsa Buzaladze, Mirza Modebadze and Sopho Papuashvili. They all with their electrifying performance created the New Year mood for the Akhaltsikhe. The event was hosted by Eco Phangan.
The event also has a Christmas market, exhibition-sale of New Year crafts and accessories. The mayor of Akhaltsikhe Municipality Irakli Lazarashvili and Chairman of the City Council David Lomidze congratulated the people on the coming New Year. They wished peace, prosperity and success to Akhaltsikhels also.
It is also to be noted that the public school teachers also attended the event with the school children also. The public-school teachers also awarded with prizes for successful participation in the competition “Teacher of the Year” announced by the municipality hall on the festive event.
The list of teachers who were honoured by the Municipality includes the following names:
- Manana Chinchaladze – Village Chvinti Public School
- Marine Kurmashvili – Public school No5 in Akhaltsikhe city
- Diana Lursmanashvili – Public school No4 in Akhaltsikhe city
- Educators-teachers of preschool institutions were also awarded
- Tamar Gokadze – Kindergarten No7 in Akhaltsikhe
- Inga Lobjanidze – Kindergarten No5 in Akhaltsikhe
- Suzana Khatskiani – Kindergarten No4 in Akhaltsikhe
On the other hand all the representatives and officials of the Municipality also congratulated the participants of event. They said that on the eve of Christmas a big mass musical night will be arranged to celebrate the historic moment and to welcome the new year. At the end event ended with festive fireworks.
