Batumi: Int. Black Sea Art Festival begins

The Batumi International Black Sea Art Festival has been officially opened. From September 10 to 15, 2024 it will host artists and music lovers from around the world.

The Batumi International Black Sea Art Festival has been officially opened. From September 10 to 15, 2024 it will host artists and music lovers from around the world.

This is the eleventh time the city has organized this event in a row. On September 10-15  the festival will host musicians especially classical music experts from different countries of the world. The event will offer listeners unforgettable days with a diverse program.

It is worth noting that since its inception the festival’s mission has been to promote international cultural integration in the country and is an important platform for Georgian talents. Moreover  this year for the first time the “Lira” Foundation  within the framework of the festival, it will establish prizes for young pianists gifted with exceptional talent and offer master classes to violinists.

It should be noted that the Batumi Black Sea Art Festival is the only cultural event in Georgia that is ongoing under the continuous patronage of the United Nations educational, social, and cultural organization, also known as UNESCO.

The traditional supporters of the festival are the Government of Georgia, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia, the Government of Adjara, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, the City Hall of Batumi administration the State Music Centre of Batumi.

As officials associated with the festival stated this is one of the major events hosted in Batumi which aims to promote cultural diplomacy among participants countries. This will also enhance public interest in classical music. The festival stresses the importance of diversity and inclusiveness in classical music. It was organized for the first time in 2013 to encourage young talent and carry forward the legacy of classical music’s rich history.

On the opening days many artists gave mesmerizing performances. The audience hall was also full of music lovers who arrived to enjoy a taste of classical music. The Batumi city hall administration shared glimpses of the event on its social media handles. The social media users appreciated the event for promoting classical culture.
