Batumi city of the Georgia has added 25 new Buses to its current fleet. This will improve the connectivity of passengers who used to travel by public transport.
The Batumi city hall administration shared information on their social media handles. They posted pictures of new buses on the city hall’s official Facebook page. It is worth noting that all 25 renewed buses have arrived with “EURO 6″ type technology.
The buses have a total length of 12 meters. Today ten buses were added to the fleet, whereas the remaining 15 buses will be introduced gradually by the end of the month bringing the total number to twenty-five.
Notably Euro-6 is the latest pollution parameter set by the European Union. The objective of the latest pollution parameter is to reduce the harmful pollutants emission from new vehicles as well.
The European Union implemented these measures keeping in view the increasing air pollution. Air pollution is one of the main reasons behind climate change and the growing temperature of the earth.
It is to be noted that the newly added buses to the fleet are very spacious. The new bus can carry 100 passengers. The buses are fully adapted for disabled people, who can board them with ease.
Due to the increased passenger flow, new buses will be deployed towards the Sarpi and Khelvachauri. Moreover the buses moving in these directions will be distributed on different routes according to the need.
This will ensure that the intervals between buses’ arrivals is reduced. Additionally a new route will be created to serve the Tamari settlement. According to the city hall representative, 16,210,000 GEL was spent on the purchase of buses. Seventy drivers were employed on the new buses.
The repressive of city hall today joined the official ceremony of the induction of new buses into the fleet. They also interacted with the drivers and assisting staff. The driver shared the suggestion about further improvement of transport services in area. They also apprised the official about their problem.
