Georgia: The Deputy Minister of Justice of Georgia, Beka Dzamashvili, presented a report on the generation of decisions of the Strasbourg court. He presented it in front of the Georgian Parliament at a Joint Meeting.
At the joint meeting of the Committees on Human Rights Protection and Civil Integration and Legal Affairs of the Georgian Parliament discussed the reports on the implementation of the cases raised by the Court of Strasbourg and the UN committees against Georgia.

The Ministry of Justice of Georgia shared the snippets of the joint meeting on its Official Facebook page on May 8, 2025, on Thursday. As per the details provided, it was noted that Beka Dzamashvili presented the reports by the Deputy Minister of Justice.
It was noted that according to the statistics of the European Court, the total number of cases against Georgia has sharply decreased. As of 2025, compared to 2011, the number of cases against Georgia in the Strasbourg court decreased by 94%. In addition, after 2012, none of the cases sent to the Strasbourg court from the Georgian penitentiary system have been accepted.
Impact of Human Rights and Justice Reforms
The sharp decline in appeals in the European Court is the result of large-scale reforms implemented by the Georgian government in the field of human rights and justice in recent years. They have resulted in the effective protection of Georgian citizens within the country. It has come to attention that 85% of the 118 cases filed by the Strasbourg Court have been completed since 2013.
Georgia’s Victory in Key Cases Against Russia
The deputy minister Beka Dzamashvili noted that with the victory of Georgia, all cases related to the 2008 war and the continuation of the occupation, after which the execution of decisions against the Russian Federation is underway within the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers.
According to the regulations of the Parliament of Georgia, reports on the state of execution of cases brought by the European Court of Human Rights and UN committees against Georgia will be submitted to Parliament annually by the Ministry of Justice.
