Tbilisi: The women’s children have received help from the authorities. The woman was killed in a Bus by her husband in presence of her minor children and passenger.
The case of women was fought by the prominent Non-governmental Organisation Rights Georgia. The NGO has been working for a long time to protect human rights across the country.
The NGO is actively working for the upliftment of women and children who are victims of social evils or violence as well. In this particular case the children who women have get benefits from the efforts of Rights Georgia. The children of women are minors and have received state compensation worth 10,000 GEL.
It is worth mentioning that Rights Georgia has been working for femicide victims since March of last year. Rights Georgia applied to the Agency For State Care And Assistance For the (Statutory) Victims of Human Trafficking to assist children of women.Notably in this case  a man killed his wife on bus No. 323 on Guramishvili Avenue in Tbilisi. The unfortunate incident happened in  May 2022.
In this attack the man inflicted more than 27 wounds on the 31-year-old woman. He committed the act in front of minor children of women and other passengers sitting on the bus. The attack resulted in immediate death of women.
The Tbilisi court found the man guilty and sent him behind bars for 20 years. However  both sides the victim and the accused filed an appeal to the appellate court for their respective remedy. The victim’s side demanded life imprisonment of the death sentence for the victim. On the other hand the accuser’s lawyer submitted that the court needs to consider the accused’s state of mind.
The appetite court dismissed the appeal and upheld the lower court’s decision of imprisonment of twenty years. Afterward the accused again approached the supreme court against the conviction order, but her appeal was dismissed  and the court upheld the imprisonment term of twenty years again as well.
