Tbilisi: One of the prominent University of Georgia Caucasus International University have hosted a public lecture today. The theme of this public lecture was “Military-Political Analysis of Armed Conflicts and Media Coverage of War”.
The pubic lecture aimed to discuss the role of media while covering the news updates from conflicts zone in any part of the world. The key speaker of this public lecture was Irakli Aladashvili. It is worth to note that Irakli Aladashvili is the editor-in-chief of the military-analytical magazine “Arsenal”, military columnist of the newspaper “Kviris Palitra”.
He used to write the blogs relating to military and on other defence ralated topics as well. The CIU while taking to their social media handle shared glimpses of meeting.
It is to be added that the key speaker introduced the audience about his own career experience and spoke about the theoretical and practical issues necessary for a military journalist.
At the same time he also discuss the necessary rules of conduct and safety that a journalist must take into account on the battlefield and introduced the students to various types of ammunition and their characteristics.
Notably the meeting was held in an active question-and-answer mode and before the lecture the guest and the audience were welcomed by Ekaterine Chalaganidze, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of Caucasus International University.
Others were included Alika Guchua Head of the Bachelor’s Program in International Relations and Vakhtang Maisaia, Head of the Master’s Programs in International Relations and International Security / Global Politics and Security Studies.
All the speaker advised student that a journalist must have very balanced approach during the coverage of war related news. They also urged students from Journalism to always strike balance among the view of both sides so that people can came to know the exact facts on war.
The students seem to very excited to attend this meeting. At the end of meeting they have asked number of questions to key speaker of meeting. All the question and queries raised by students were answered by guest speaker.
