Georgia: The construction of a 23 km road and tunnels of Kvesheti-Kobi continues actively. The project is divided into two sections, in which a 2-lane asphalt-concrete road, five bridges, five tunnels, and rehabilitation of 1 bridge will be carried out.

At the moment, the longest of the four tunnels—a 1.5 km-long tunnel on the second stage of the project—has been cut. The third tunnel has also been cut, and the rest are actively underway. Works continue on all five bridges, where towers are being constructed.

9 km on the first stage of the project. 15 m long. Cutting out the diameter tunnel completed. The new 9-km tunnel is the longest in Georgia and one of the most unique in the world.

Within the framework of the Kvesheti-Kobi road project, the construction of a 5 km road to Gudauri and a tourist center is planned.

After the completion of the new road, transport in the direction of Kobe will no longer be restricted in winter; up to 10 villages in Khada Valley will stay connected to the environment in winter and have uninterrupted access to all necessary services. Moving to a new road will become safer and more comfortable.

Along with improving safety standards, the new route will reduce travel time. The journey from Kubb to Koba currently takes up to 1 hour, and traffic is often prohibited because of hazards. After the project is over, it will take only 15 minutes to pass the section.

Travel time from Tbilisi to Gudauri will be 1 hour and 30 minutes instead of 2 hours. Moving to the Tbilisi-Stepantsminda direction will take 1 hour and 45 minutes instead of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

The Kobi road project will be implemented within the framework of the loan agreement signed with the Asian Development (ADB) and European Reconstruction and Development Banks (EBRD), the total value of which is 1.2 billion GEL. The project is planned to be completed step by step in 2024-2025.
