As the process for Budget Presentation is Underway In the Municipality of Keda, Technical Reviews of 138 Ideas have been completed By the Council for the “Participatory Budget”.After this terechniacl Review, 126 project ideas have been selected to enter the second stage.
It is to be specifically mentioned that Voting is going to be held on December 8 9, and 10 ,2023. All citizens above the age of 21 years of age are eligible to vote. They will be eligible to cast vote in Relevant administrative unit after the completion of the formal requirement.
It is worth mentioning that the population of the Daba Kedi presented many creative and diverse ideas for the creation of a development-oriented budget for the Municipality.
Many such suggestions include a bus waiting hall with a digital display information board. Erection of grape monument, setting up a skate park, arrangement of the new square in the locality. Equipping the meeting space with inventory.
Notably, a few days ago, the office of Keda Municipality invited the general public to submit their ideas to the municipality. As per that information, people could submit the same after visiting the official website of Keda Municipality.
People could also registed themself by visiting personally. Some other options were also available for registration, which included a visit to the Facebook page, etc.
Estimated Budget allocation for the Keda Municipality is 1 500 000 GEL. The information campaign and Voting of ideas were carried out by a Non government organisation called “Development Wave”.
The Keda Municipality has been organising many awareness seminars and conferences to encourage people to vote. They requested people to come forward on a Voting day to a polling stations in large numbers and cast their votes.
People also appreciated the decision of the municipality to call the people to share innovative ideas with the Municipality management. Local residents said that this is the best opportunity given to them by the municipality.
On the other hand, government officials also stated that this step to invite the public to submit their ideas has been taken to enhance public participation in the local government. Moreover, these initiatives will continue in future as well so that people-friendly budgets can be introduced for the welfare of all citizens.
