To discuss the provisions and proposal of Budget 2024, the Municipality Committee of Keda City held a public discussion. This public discussion was held on Tuesday, November 21 2023.
The public budget meeting was held in question-answer mode. The quarries of the Public regarding the budget were answered by Roland Beridze, mayor of the Keda Municipality and Jemal Takidze, who is the head of the Finance and Budgetary service of the City Municipality of Keda.
Public discussion discussed in detail draft budget along with priorities document for the next year 2024. The draft budget and priorities document was discussed by Jemal Takidze, the head of the financial budget service.
It is specifically mentioned that the main financial document had estimates of 25,467,800 GEL, but later on, this was increased to 3,000,000 GEL as compared to the initial budget of the previous year.
As per the provisions of the draft of the budget for the year 2024, the expenditure on the health and social security program of the country has been increased by 123,200 GEL, whereas the budget amount for the culture, religion, youth promotion and sports programs saw an increment of 1859800 GEL.
This enhanced budget allocation will be used for the sports infrastructure, landslides, water supply, administrative centre facilities, etc.
On this occasion, an official of the municipality also informed the Public that if any citizen wanted to submit his personal views on the draft budget, he could do the same. Interested persons can submit the same until 18:00 PM on November 21 at the Keda Municipality Council after the publication of notice in this regard.
Meanwhile, as per the latest available information, in case any remark is made on the draft budget, then the mayor of the Keda municipality will return it back before November 25 2023.
The official of the municipality noted down the important suggestion of the People. They also assured the general public that all efforts would be made to implement the genuine and welfare-centric advice of the citizens.
The attendees of the meeting also expressed their gratitude towards the Municipality for this wonderful budget discussion session. They said that it was a very historical moment to share their views and innovative ideas with the municipality officials. They hoped that with the implementation of public suggestion, a good and welfare-oriented budget would take its final shape.
