The health ministry of Georgia said that the country reported 25,161 new daily cases of coronavirus, with 16,789 recoveries and 51 deaths. According to the data, the positivity rate for the past seven days stands at 32.45%.
Overall, there are 219,007 individuals who are still infected with the novel coronavirus in Georgia.
Moreover, in total, 72,587 tests were conducted throughout the country within the past 24 hours. Among 72,587 tests, 25,555 were PCR tests, while the remaining 47,032 were rapid antigen tests.
So far, since February 2020, an overall of 1,375,615 cases of the COVID-19 has been registered throughout the country. However, a total of 1,141,231 of 1,375,615 patients have recovered from coronavirus since the pandemic, while 15,351 have succumbed to the virus.
As of February 09, Georgia has confirmed an overall 1,913 cases of Omicron variant all over the country.
The new cases of coronavirus are reported in Tbilisi accounting for 11,857 cases, Adjara – 2,011 cases, Imereti – 3,730 cases, Kvemo Kartli – 1,421 cases, Shida Kartli – 1,530 cases, Guria – 642 cases, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 1,577 cases, Kakheti – 1,253 cases, Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 597 cases, Samtskhe-Javakheti – 437 cases, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 106 cases.
As of today, an overall 6,036 people are undergoing treatment in hospitals in Georgia, while 1,252 individuals are in a severe condition, out of which 290 are on artificial ventilation.
In addition, around 211,070 people are undergoing treatment at home by isolating themselves and consulting their family doctors.
Furthermore, the percentage of people fully vaccinated in Georgia is low as compared to many other countries. Around 33.1% of the population of Georgia is fully vaccinated against the COVID-19, which accounts for 12.3L people and around 28.4L doses have been administered until now.
A total of 1,341,049 individuals have been jabbed with at least one dose of any vaccine in the country, and around 1,229,404 people have been fully vaccinated, amounting to 42.8% of the country’s adult population.
