COVID-19: Georgia reports 19,049 new cases with 51 deaths

The health authorities of Georgia has stated that the country has reported a total of 19,049 new cases of Coronavirus, with 18,409 recoveries and 51 deaths in the last 24 hours. The positivity for the past two weeks stands at 32.1 per cent.

The health authorities of Georgia has stated that the country has reported a total of 19,049 new cases of Coronavirus, with 18,409 recoveries and 51 deaths in the last 24 hours. The positivity for the past two weeks stands at 32.1 per cent.

Overall, there are a total of 176,019 active cases of Coronavirus throughout the country as released by the health authorities.

According to the data, a total of 56,531 tests were conducted all around the country in the past 24 hours. Among them, 39,936 were rapid antigen tests, while the remaining 16,595 were PCR tests.

The new 19,049 cases of Coronavirus were reported in Tbilisi – 8,972 cases, Adjara – 1,317, Imereti – 2,854, Kvemo Kartli – 842, Shida Kartli – 970, Guria – 710, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 1,272, Kakheti – 1,229, Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 446, Samtskhe-Javakheti – 307, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 130.

Moreover, Since February 26, Georgia has registered a total of 1,480,841 cases of Coronavirus throughout the country.

As per the data, 6,017 Coronavirus infected individuals are undergoing treatment in hospitals, while 168,693 individuals are undergoing treatment at home by isolating themselves and contacting their family doctors.

Around 1,306 individuals are still in a severe condition, out of which 293 are on artificial ventilation.

The percentage of people fully vaccinated in Georgia is low as compared to many other countries. As of today, around 33.3% of the population of Georgia is fully vaccinated against the COVID-19, which accounts for 12.3L people and around 28.6L doses have been administered.

Overall, 1,343,310 people have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,233,566 people have been fully vaccinated, amounting to 42.8% of the country’s adult population.
