Georgian army held “Shamkor 2024” exercise at Vaziani

Tbilisi: The Georgian army’s command and staff exercise was held at the Vaziani military base under the name “Shamkor 2024.” On the last day  live firing was held with the participation of members of armed forces.

 

It is to be specifically mentioned that the military personnel of the 4th Infantry Brigade of the Georgian defense forces conducted a field situational exercise. They also practiced live fire with the support of the 5th Artillery Brigade, the Combat Engineer Battalion, and Aviation and Air Defense Command units.

 

It is worth noting that the field training was aimed at synchronizing the units’ actions, immediate response to the expected threat, and task performance. This also had the objective of streamlining the collaboration between all the wings of the army.

 

The demonstration exercise was attended by the Deputy Commander of the Defense Forces along with the chief of the General Staff, Brigadier General Johnny Tatunashvili, Commander of the East  Brigadier General Roland Dzneladze, and other representatives of the Defense Forces.

 

Many other measures were adopted to provide the best combat skills to the participating armed vehicles. The command and staff component of “Shamkor 2024” was conducted using modern and latest techniques and computer systems at the simulation, communication, and information systems center of the Joint NATO-Georgia Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC) in Krtsanis.

 

Moreover  in addition to the members of the defense Forces, the personnel of the structural units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were also included in it. At the same time “Shamkor 2024″ was aimed at deepening the cooperation between the units of the Defense Forces and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, joint operation planning, and coordinated and synchronized actions during defense operations.

 

The Ministry of Defence of Georgia shared this information on its social media handles and posted a video of the firing practice as well.  The Georgian government has been making many efforts to upgrade the country’s defense capabilities. As the military spokesperson present on the site says, these efforts will continue in the future.
