Dominica: The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, extended his wishes on International Women’s Day. He took to his Facebook account, where he wrote: “Happy International Women’s Day to the superwomen in our lives!”Â
PM Skerrit stressed the role of women, their strength, resilience and intelligence, which makes a significant impact on the growth of the country and thanked them for everything women do in their respective fields.
On the same note, Dr Rossevelt Skerrit took the privilege to honour the women who’ve been performing exceptionally well in their respective fields as his part in the celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8.Â
The Prime Minister acknowledged the contributions of women in society that extends way beyond taking care of the most vulnerable class, including elderly citizens, Youth and differently able citizens.
As the deserving candidates were honoured, PM Roosevelt Skerrit stated: “We treasure your service to our people and country and wish you God’s continued blessings.” The following are the recipients of the honour:Â

In addition to this, the Housing Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Melissa Skerrit, also extended her greetings for International Women’s Day, stating, “Today, on International Women’s Day, I would like to extend my gratitude to and acknowledgement of the many hard-working, diligent, and inspirational women who make up the fabric of Dominica.”Â
