Tbilisi: Giorgi Amilakhvar, Georgian Minister of Education and Science Hold a meeting with German scientists. The attendee of the meeting includes the Director of the Helmholtz Center of Dresden-Rossendor, Honorary Doctor Sebastian Schmidt, Former Director of the Institute of Nuclear Physics at Iulich Research Center, Honorary Doctor of TSU and Professor Hans Stroer and Honorary Doctor of the Institute of Neuromedicine of Iulich Research Centre etc. The meeting aimed to enhance cooperation in the field of education in Germany and Georgia.
Education Minister Giorgi Amilakhvar, at the meeting, discussed the results and future plans achieved Under the “Georgian-German Scientific Bridge (GGSB)” with the participants of the meeting. He also stated that it is important to promote the development of the Georgian scientific field to cooperate with the German side and deepen the existing scientific links between Georgia and Germany.
According to him, the “Georgian-German Scientific Bridge” holds a special place in this direction under which many successful projects have been launched.
It Is to be specifically mentioned that in 2024, a 20th partnership anniversary between the German side and Georgian universities – Tbilisi State University, Technical University of Georgia and Kutaisi International University will be celebrated within the framework of the “Georgian-German Bridge”. A large-scale event is already planned to be organised in Georgia in connection with this anniversary.
The education minister extended his full support to the participants of the meeting for the full-fledged implementation of new projects within the framework of the “Georgian-German Bridge” and expressed his readiness to strengthen cooperation between both countries.
This meeting was also attended by Shota Rustaveli’s General Director of the National Science Foundation of Georgia, Teimuraz Dochvir, Rector of Tbilisi State University Jaba Samushia, Rector of the Technical University of Georgia, David Gurgenidze and Rector of Kutaisi International University Alexander Tevzadze along with other dignitaries.
Notably, German scientists participating in the meeting includes Sebastian Schmidt, Hans Stroer and John Shah are members of the International Advisory Council of Kutaisi International University.
On The other hand, consortium of the Georgian and number of Gwerman Universities Callled “Georgian-German Scientific Bridge” (GGSB) promoteing the deepening of educational, scientific and cultural ties between educational institutes of both countries by implementation of joint research projects and exchange programs with the help of Georgian and German students and scientists.
