Tianeti Municipality honors public school graduates with medals and cash prizes

Tianeti, Georgia, February 12, 2024: The Tianeti Municipality City Hall organized an awarding event for the graduates of public schools on Monday. The event was attended by Gocha Kavtaradze, Mayor of Tianeti Municipality Levan Tsiklauri, Head of Tianeti Educational Resource Center Irakli Zviadauri, as well as representatives of the City Hall, public school teachers and directors.

The graduates of the 2021-2022 academic year were awarded gold and silver medals for their outstanding academic performance. The gold medalists received 1000 GEL each, and the silver medalists received 800 GEL as a gift from the City Hall. 

The representatives of the local government congratulated the young people on their graduation and wished them further success in their future endeavours.

The awarding event was part of the education promotion programs developed by Tianeti City Hall in 2023 at Levan Tsiklauri’s initiative. The programs aim to encourage and support the students of Tianeti Municipality who excel in their studies and achieve exceptional achievements. The programs also include giving cash rewards to the students pursuing higher education at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels.

The Mayor of Tianeti Municipality, Levan Tsiklauri, expressed his pride and appreciation for the graduates and their teachers. He also emphasized the importance of education for the development of Tianeti and the country. He said that the City Hall will continue implementing various projects and initiatives to improve the quality and accessibility of education in the Municipality.

Tianeti Municipality is an administrative unit of Georgia, situated 1000-3000 m above sea level. Its area is 906.6 sq km, of which 60% is forest and 30 thousand hectares of agricultural land. There are two towns and 84 villages in the Municipality. 

There are no industrial polluters in Tianeti; the population here traditionally does not use pesticides and chemical fertilizers. 70% – 80% of the products are clean. 

The Municipality’s government declared the area of Tianeti a green zone. Priorities: bio-agricultural industry, sustainable forest management, establishment of environmentally friendly technologies.
