The representatives of the “Anika” association have met with the students of the Caucasus University. This was held to create awareness about disability, especially among University students.
The Caucasus University also took to their social media handles and provided the information in this regard as well.
The Caucasus University stated in a Facebook post “ The students of the University got an opportunity to have a fruitful meeting with the representative of the “Anika” association. The organization’s mission is to create equal opportunities and conditions for persons with disabilities. Organizations also aim to ensure a dignified and independent life for a person having any kind of disability. For this purpose they provide services tailored to individual needs to people with disabilities and their families, provide them with skills necessary for independent living, preparation for the labor market and employment”.
Some private-level studies show that due to a lack of skill training the person with disability faces the problems of the unemployment at highest grade. To address the problem of unemployment among people with disability many measures have already been taken by the Ministry of Health as well.
The key speakers also said that this seminar will aware the student community about the problems being faced by disabled people in any part of the country. They also expressed hopes that the student community can play a major role in improving the living of people with disability.
On the other hand the students of the Caucasus University also asked many questions to the key speakers of the seminar. They also shared their opinion that the Central government should provide the maximum financial support to the local administration of Municipalities so that they can implement welfare programs and policies for these people.
According to students if governments make the effort to best welfare policies for disabled people they can contribute to the development of the country as well.
