Amazon has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming sci-fi thriller The Tomorrow War. The film is directed by Chris McKay and written by Zach Dean. The film stars Chris Pratt as Dan Forester. He is shown as a high school teacher recruited by a group of time travelers to fight a war in the future. Alien species threaten life on Earth; the only hope for survival is for civilians and soldiers from the present to travel to the year 2051 and help save the planet. Dan teams up with his estranged father and a brilliant scientist to rewrite the fate of humanity.
The cast also includes Sam Richardson, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Edwin Hodge, Betty Gilpin, Jasmine Mathews. As per reports, $200 million were paid by Amazon for distribution rights for the film. Skydance Media developed and produced the film. Paramount Pictures was initially set to distribute the film. With this film, McKay’s will direct a sci-fi film for the 1st time.
The Tomorrow War was supposed to release around Christmas in 2020, but due to the pandemic, it got delayed. Now the film will release on 2 July 2021. It will release on Amazon Prime in over 240 countries, offering a different kind of summer film experience.
