Georgia: The Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia supported the project “Singing Museum,” which held a concert of the Royal National Ballet “Potskhishvilebi” in the amphitheater of the Ethnographic Museum named after Giorgi Chitaia.

Georgian choreography was performed at the concert, earning the audience a big ovation.

It is worth noting that this year, on the initiative of the Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia Thea Tsulukiani, the Royal National Ballet “Potskhishvili” together with the ensemble “Didgori” was announced as the ensemble of the Ethnographic Museum named after Giorgi Chitaia.

They remind the public that the “Singing Museum” project was created in 2023 with the support of the Georgian Ministry of Culture and Sports and on the initiative of the ensemble Didgori. Since then, folk singing lessons and concerts have been held in the Museum every month.

Along with folk song concerts and lessons, Georgian dance has been added to the “Singing Museum” project, making the open-air Museum even more attractive for Georgian and foreign visitors.

For information: Gelodi Potskishvili, the founder of the choreographic dynasty of the ensemble “Potskhishvili,” has more than 60 years of history. Since 1963, during his leadership and even today, the ensemble has been conducting concerts worldwide, developing Georgian choreography and serving Georgian culture.

“Potskishvili” unites two schools: Potskshishvili Dance Academy and Little Stars Dance Studio; they are also very successful in schools and teach the art of dance to the next generation.

In 2008, the “Royal National Ballet of Georgia” was formed based on Gela Potskishvili and Maya Kiknadze’s idea. Gela Potshishvili is the director, artistic director, and chief producer, and Maia Kiknidze is the main balletmaster of the ensemble.

Notably, the “Royal National Ballet” successfully participated in the Leville Georgian Festival in 2023 and 2024.

“Didgori” was created in 2004 and debuted in 2006. The ensemble is active in Georgia and abroad. In 2015, in the nomination “New Generation,” the ensemble was awarded the Foundation “Georgian Choir” award and seal for its contribution to popularizing Georgian songs.

It is meaningful that the ensemble participated in the Georgian Festival of Levili in 2024, which was managed by the initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia and with the support of the government of Georgia.

The Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia welcomes the ensembles’ fruitful cooperation and their offering of an interesting and diverse program for the audience.
