Kyiv: The French Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson has warned Russian President Vladimir Putin against new annexures after Crimea. The warning came amidst the rumours of Russia planning another invasion in various occupied areas.

The western leaders had sent their video addresses to the Crimea Platform Conference in Kyiv. The conference was attended by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, with Andrzej Duda, the President of Poland.

Russia illegally annexed Crimea in 2014 after a referendum was deemed illegitimate. Duda said that the irresponsive attitude of the west towards this annexure had worsened the business relations with the west. This annexure had clearly infringed the basic human rights in Peninsula, said French President Emmanuel Macron, who has promised long-term support from European Union to Ukraine.

Moscow has been staging various attacks on Ukraine from Crimea. Moreover, various methods of brutality against Ukrainians are being tested in Crimea. “Putin is planning to do to parts of Ukraine, indeed, to all of Ukraine, what he’s done to Crimea,” British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said.

Kremlin has been putting consistent efforts into turning citizens into Russians by providing them with Russian passports in the territories it has occupied.

Kyiv has been speculating that Moscow may attempt organising referendums on the seized territories. The Moscow officials have been announcing a referendum in Russian-occupied areas of Zaporizhzhia.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has also condemned the Russian attempts to forcefully capture and re-integrate the territories of Ukraine. Further stating, he said that any kind of sham referendum or attempts to alter the status of parts of Ukrainian territory won’t be recognised.
