The chair of Georgia parliament’s European Integration committee, Levan Makhashvili condemned the latest resolution of European Parliament. Levan Makhashvili said this resolution is very shocking and unacceptable.
It is worth to note that the recently European Parliament has adopted a resolution which calls not to recognise current government of Georgian Dream. The resolution which was passed with 400 votes also referred to reports of large-scale violation of election fraud in election of national parliament to Georgia. In the election to national parliament Georgian Dream won a second term.
The resolution of European Parliament also criticised the decision of Georgian Dream to suspend its talks accession Georgian Union. Moreover, Georgian protester are also opposing this move of Georgian Dream.
While calling for strict action resolution also sought imposition of strict sanctions against Bidzina Ivanishvili, the GD’s Honorary Chair and founder. As per the details of the resolution along with the chair of GD honorary chairs the other people who are associated with him should also be brough to justice for large scale violation of election rules as well.
Levan Makhashvili while speaking further added that, we cannot accept this resolution at any cost as this is full with lies and false claims which cannot be accepted by any democratic and a republic country.
He further said that his very shocked to see that the resolution failed to honours the will of Georgian people. Everyone should respect the Georgian people will as they have elected their government without any internal and external pressure.
He termed this resolution as just a piece of paper which is full of lies and false claims. Moreover, any document which do not honours free will of peoples cannot be accepted.
This resolution is direct attack on our sovereignty and we will always oppose any such move be it European union or any other regional or international organisations.
He also took strong exception of the leaders of opposition parties of Georgia. He said their response also shows that they are not willing to honours free will of Georgian people who have elected government of their choice.
