The Georgian e Competition and Consumer Protection Agency (GCCA) successfully organised the closing event of the 3rd International Consumer Protection Week in Batumi. This was held with coordinating of many other organisations.
The organisations which help in this direction are the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC), the State Insurance Supervision Service, the National Bank of Georgia.
The other is the Communications Commission, and the National Food Agency, organized the closing event of the 3rd International Consumer Protection Week in Batumi. This significant event brought together key stakeholders to discuss consumer rights and protection mechanisms in country.
It is worth to note that event was opened by Irakli Lekvinadze, Chairman of the GCCA, They also addressed the participants and emphasized the importance of consumer engagement, adherence to agency-defined standards for consumers rights protection.
Irakli Lekvinadze, while speaking on this occasion underlined “Under the first-ever National Strategy for Consumer Rights Protection, which is supported  Government of Georgia. At the same time six regulatory bodies are committed to protecting consumer rights both individually and collectively at a national level.
He while speaking further in this direction also added that numerous initiatives have been implemented to enhance consumer protection in Georgia. One of the key initiatives of the agency is International Consumer Protection Week, which involves direct engagement with consumers in capital city Tbilisi and across different regions.
According to them these kind meetings provide a platform for discussions on key achievements, challenges, and future developments in consumer rights protection.
Similarly Levendale stated, The main goal of our initiative is goal is to ensure that each citizen’s rights are more effectively protected and guaranteed in accordance with best international practices. We with continuous dialogue and proactive initiatives are striving to enhance consumer awareness and reinforce trust in regulatory mechanisms.
The agency is working since its establishment to protect consumer rights. The agency has taken strict action against the violators.
