Tbilisi, Georgia: According to the eleven months of 2024 data, 791 applications were registered with the Georgian Competition and Consumer Protection Agency (GCCA). Among them, the percentage of those with gender marks is – 70% women and 30% men.

During this period, the GCCA’s decision confirmed 78 violations of consumer group rights in 147 cases.
44 traders were fined for non-fulfillment of obligations imposed by GCCA, and 75 cases were fined, in total – 44,901 GEL.
For the benefit of consumers, 128 agreements have been signed in 151 cases of conditional liability, which means that traders have undertaken the obligation – to change the internal policy of the operations and restore the rights of users, who are likely to be harmed as a result of their trading policy.
67% of the applications received by users relate to online trading and 33% to buying items on the spot. According to regions, Tbilisi is leading with 85%, Adjara is next with 4%, Imereti is second with 2%, Samegrelo Upper Svaneti is third with 2%, and other regions are third.
According to the applications received by the user to the agency, there were 275 for the refund or return of defective items, 232, for the right to restore the defective service, 133, for the delivery of goods on a set date, 45 for the unconditional return of item 30, for the prohibition of misleading activity 26, and 50 for the rest.
In the financial period, the wholesale and retail sector occupies 73%, transport and warehouses 12%, art, entertainment and leisure 3%, construction 2%, and other activities 10%.
