Tbilisi: The Tbilisi International Airport has recently renovated the existing infrastructure to add additional space for the immigration zone.
As per the information provided by the airport management of the Tbilisi and Batumi International Airport they have accomplished their next large infrastructural project. Moreover, through this new project an additional area was created for the immigration zone as well as the border control zone capacity has increased by 44% and the number of border control kiosks has become 12 from the previous 9.
At the same time the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Mariam Kvrivishvili and United Airports of Georgia Director Irakli Karkashadze and Civil Aviation Agency Director Givi Davitashvili have visited Tbilisi International Airport today to see the outcome of the completed works. They appreciated the completed work and said that the work will continue in the future as well to make the airport infrastructure more upgraded and world-class.
On the other hand General Manager of the company operating Tbilisi and Batumi international airports Tea Zakaradze provided to the guests with detailed information on the completed works as well as on those still in progress, after the completion of which the departure hall business lounge will be expanded and a Fast Track will be arranged.
The new addition will allow business class passengers and passengers with special needs to undergo the relevant procedures in the minimum amount of time, without standing in a queue.
Speaking further on the occasion the Tea Zakaradze stated “Shortly we will add the 13th border control kiosk to serve the Fast Track passengers. The Fast Track option is new to Tbilisi International Airport and it will add more comfort and facility for our passengers. A total amount of 2200000 GEL has been so far invested in the project. We will come again with plans, continue our projects and soon we are going to expand the arrival terminal as well”.
