Adjara, Georgia: A meeting of the High Council Committee on Health and Social Affairs was held in Adjara on May 20, 2025, on Tuesday. The Meeting was organized by the Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Adjara, Nino Nizharadze.
It should be noted that Nino Nizharadze presented the annual report of the Ministry’s budget for 2024 and the performance report of the Ist quarter of the 2025 budget at the meeting of the High Council Committee on Health and Social Affairs.
The Ministry of Health and Social Affairs of Adjara shared the glimpses of the meeting on its Official Facebook page. The Ministry also shared a small note along with the photographs.
According to the note shared by the Ministry, it should be noted that last year, the Ministry’s combined budget amounted to 61,255,000 GEL. Moreover, the performance amounted to 99,5 %.
Notably, the budget for 2025 has increased significantly by 23.9%, which is 80,500,000 GEL. The Ministry is implementing 38 programs together with broadcasting institutions. 90,946 citizens benefited from the Ministry’s programs in the year 2024 and the first quarter of 2025, allocated 128 013 631 GEL.
According to the Minister Nino Nizharadze, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Adjara has started to implement several important initiatives in the region. “The Ministry is aimed at improving the quality and access to health care,” Minister added.
Health Sector Improvements
Financing of lung transplantation, financing of transcatheter implantation of the heart (TAVI) for patients with severe heart diseases has been started in the direction of healthcare. This procedure is less invasive and critical for high-risk patients. The annual limit of target, immunotherapy, and bisphosphonate group medicines has been increased to 70,000 GEL.
According to Nino Nizharadze’s statement, the Health Ministry of Adjara has started working on 2026 programs. Furthermore, existing programs will continue this year, many changes are planned to be implemented, the number of beneficiaries will increase, the funding share from the Ministry, and new programs will be implemented.
