Georgia: The National Center for Education Quality Enhancement of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia will host the annual international forum of the members of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, ENQA, in 2023.

The Board of Directors of ENQA made this decision based on the successful work of the National Center for Quality Enhancement in Education. That is why the National Center for Quality Development in Education has given the advantage of holding an international forum among many countries.

The annual international forum will discuss current issues and trends related to higher education policy in the European area and quality assurance in higher education. It will involve the heads of 55 quality assurance agencies from 32 European countries.

In addition, the staff of the agencies, the heads and representatives of the working group of the European Quality Assurance Agencies – EQAR, the Association of European Universities, the European Students Association, and the Bologna Process Working Group will also be included.

It should be emphasized that the decision to hold the International Forum in Georgia is another confirmation that the recent changes made by the National Center for Quality Enhancement in Education in the direction of quality assurance in higher education are in full compliance with common European standards and approaches.

The implementation of the recommendations by the ENQA expert group was monitored at the National Center for Education Quality Enhancement in 2021.

According to them, all the recommendations have been implemented by the Center; thus, the degree of harmonization of the quality assurance mechanisms of higher education in Georgia has significantly increased in relation to the common quality assurance standards and principles of the European space.

By the decision of the Council of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), on April 25, 2019, the National Center for Quality Enhancement in Education was granted the status of a full member of ENQA for a period of 5 years.

According to ENQA, the National Center for Education Quality Enhancement is in full compliance with the European Higher Education Area Quality Assurance Standards and Guidelines (ESG 2015) and fully meets the key criteria for ENQA membership.
