Tbilisi: Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, inspected various infrastructural projects in Daba Bakuriani, including new racing tracks and got acquainted with the preparation works of the championship on the spot. Garibashvili was accompanied by the Vice PM, Minister of Economy of Georgia Levan Davitashvili, within the framework of the Bakuriani World Cup 2023.
Prime Minister visited the Didveli’s new race track and personally inspected the infrastructure there.
“Large-scale works have been carried out by our government. Three new ramps were built, six new tracks laid, and a 30-mile drive of new snow. This is the most modern system installed in Bakuriani. We look forward to the beginning of the World Cup, which will officially start on February 18 and run until March 5. It was an honour to host this championship.”, stated Prime Minister Garibashvili.
Notably, about 700 athletes from 42 nations will be participating in the championship. Everything done here will remain for Bakuriani and Georgia. In total, 270 million GEL was invested by the Georgian government, and this unique infrastructure, and modern systems were arranged to hold the World Cup with dignity.
“I also want to tell you that we have begun preparations for the 2025 Youth Olympics. We plan to set up, restore trampolines and other critical infrastructure that will be created during this Olympics. And Bakuriani should always be ready to host such high-level championships.
Of course, the vacationer must be satisfied, both Georgian and foreigner and we are all happy about this. “So, congratulations to everyone; Georgia is ready to host the World Championship,” said the Georgian Prime Minister.
It is noteworthy that only 6 new racing tracks have been created specifically for the championship.
Georgia hosts the world championship in freestyle, subboard and frisky. Bakuriani – 2023 will be held under the aegis of the International Skiing Federation (FIS) and 42 countries (Austria, Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Australia, South Africa, China, Japan, Canada, USA and others. ) up to 700 athletes. At the World Championship, from February 16 to March 5, 30 competitions in 7 species will be held.
