Georgia: As a result of complex operational measures and investigative actions conducted together with the General Prosecutor’s Office, the employees of the main division of the fight against organized crime of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested 9 members of the criminal group.
G. was born in 1980. F., K.M. born in 1968, M.L. born in 1960. A. was born in 1981. M., born in 1978 L.M., born in 1968 I.B., born in 1978 T.B., born in 2000 G.Ch. and G.M., born in 1976, is arrested as a group on the charges of promoting prostitution and providing a place for prostitution.
Crimes are punishable by imprisonment for 4 to 7 years.
The investigation established that women engaged in prostitution systematically gathered in the hotels “Sabudara” and “Argo” in Tbilisi, as well as in the bars of the same institutions owned by G.F.
And according to the instructions of the administration employees, sexual services were provided to the persons who came to the hotel in exchange for a certain amount of money.
The investigation also established that the administrators of the “Argo” and “Sabudara” hotels organized the connection between men seeking sexual services and women involved in prostitution.
For this purpose, they rented hotel rooms by the hour, and security guards protected the safety of women engaged in prostitution, and if necessary, they provided transport of women and their clients by car.
The criminal group members received substantial incomes by promoting prostitution and providing places for prostitution.
As a result of the search, law enforcement officers seized a large amount of money as evidence.
The case is being investigated under the 1st and 2nd parts of Article 254 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, as well as the subsection “a” of the 3rd part, which refers to the promotion of prostitution by an organized group and providing a place for prostitution.
