Vazha Siradze, the Director of the patrol police department, participated in the first-ever meeting of the European Regional Network of Traffic police. He was accompanied by Lasha Jokhadze, Who is the head of the patrol police department Tbilisi Main office. This first-ever meeting was held in Istanbul, Turkey. The meeting aimed to enhance international cooperation between law enforcement agencies regarding road safety.
As traffic-related incidents are increasing day by day, the need emerges to have mutual cooperation between the agencies of different countries. So, to address this problem, many countries participated in the first meeting on road safety.
The meeting highlighted the significance of international cooperation on road safety. It is to be specifically mentioned that every year, a large number of people lose their lives in road-related accidents.
The meeting called all the participating countries to share their experiences and best practices with other countries that can be used for the prevention of road accidents.
Moreover, during this meeting, many presentations were also displayed. These presentations were prepared by the concerned departments of participating countries.
This prersentatyion includes topics of road safety and challenges. The presentation also showed how to overcome these challenges.
Discussions were also held on the issue of the importance of International and inter-agency cooperation like police and law enforement agencies in this area that is road safety.
It is worth mentioning that the event was attended by more than fifty law enforcement agencies and representatives of various international organisations.
Key speakers at the meeting said the large number of human lives lost in road accidents is a great matter of concern. They also noted the immediate need to implement the strategy for international cooperation as soon as possible.
The members of the Georgian Police Department also explained the strategy being adopted by the department in Georgia to mitigate the number of road-related accidents. They thanked the organiser for this meeting and called it the need of the hour.
