The Georgian Minister of Justice, Paata Salia discussed the issues of deepening cooperation with the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations in politics.

The Georgian Minister of Justice, Paata Salia, met Guy Rider, the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, regarding political issues. At the meeting, the parties discussed the main directions of the cooperation between Georgia and the UN and the possibilities of further deepening it. The talk noted that coordinated international cooperation is of particular importance in the face of global challenges.
The parties stressed the compliance of the reforms carried out by Georgia with the UN priorities and the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030.
The Minister of Justice informed the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations about the systemic reforms headed by the Ministry of Justice in detail. Paata Salia noted that one of the main priorities of the organization is to uphold the rule of law, promote citizen-oriented public services, and develop digital governance.
The Minister also emphasized the importance of innovations, which play a major role in improving the quality of public services and the process of forming citizen-oriented policies. According to him, technological transformation is one of the main foundations of modern public administration, and that is how Georgian reforms are progressing.
Paata Salia invited Guy Rider to the UN Public Services Forum, which will be held in Tbilisi on June 23-25.
The meeting was attended by Beka Dzamashvili, Deputy Minister of Justice, Lana Morgoshia, representatives of the Ministry of Justice, and the Deputy Permanent Representative of Georgia to the UN.
The Georgian delegation is in the USA to participate in the meeting of the Commission of Experts organized by the United Nations.
