Tbilisi: Georgia’s precision shooting team will compete at the World Championship. The world championship  will be held in the United States of America from September 10 to September 17.
The State of Colorado will host the championship under the auspices of the International Precision Shooting Federation (IPSF). The Georgian precision shooting team consisting of Otar Kishinski, Giorgi Gelashvili  and Davit Zangaladze  will participate in the world championship with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia.
Currently the Georgian shooting team members are undergoing pre-competition training in the United States of America. They will participate in the championship in the free division from September 14. It should be noted that the Georgian Precision Shooting Federation was founded just three years ago in 2021 and was recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia a few months ago.
Aleksandre Maisuradze  head of the sports department of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia attended the meeting at the world championship of precision shooting. He will meet with the president of the federation, Otar Kishinski.
At the same time he will meet with the president of the International Precision Shooting Federation, Marcus Olson and the president of the US Precision Shooting Federation  Gregory Bell.
Moreover the parties will discuss bilateral cooperation and prospects for developing this type of sports in Georgia at the meeting. This time the Georgian national team will compete at the World Championship for the second time.
In 2022 Georgia took seventh place in the team competition in the Limited division. Beka Tsiklauri finished eleventh among 50 athletes in the individual competition in the same division.
It is worth noting that about 300 athletes from 30 countries participated in the world championship in precision shooting. The foundation of precision shooting was laid in the USA and soon gained worldwide popularity. This type of sport is especially popular in the United States of America, but Georgia is also taking steps in this direction.
